It was a special day at Brookland Robertson as the community celebrated the official launch of the newly installed garden beds.

Bathed in sunshine on a beautiful winter’s day, the occasion was marked by the inaugural planting of a range of seedlings, generously donated by Bunnings and green-thumbed members of the Brookland Garden Club.
From vibrant flowers to fresh herbs and vegetables, the garden beds are now full of promise and will soon be bursting with life.
Gardening isn’t just a fun and rewarding hobby, it’s also a proven way to support physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing, particularly in later life. Whether it’s the gentle exercise, the joy of watching something grow, or the chance to connect with others, spending time in the garden has been shown to reduce stress, improve mood, and foster a sense of purpose.
It’s no wonder our residents are always out in force with gloves and trowels in hand!
Brookland Robertson Village Manager Leilani Leslie said the new garden beds were a wonderful example of how small additions could make a big impact on village life.
“Gardens have a unique way of bringing people together because they inspire connection, activity, and a real sense of pride,” she said.
“We are focused on creating a community that support healthy, happy ageing, and initiatives like this one reflect that commitment beautifully.”
For those keen to get involved, the Brookland Garden Club meets on the third Friday of every month, and all residents are welcome to join in the fun.
We are looking forward to many more seasons of growing, sharing, and community spirit at Brookland!
